Stephen K. Eisele
Biography
Stephen Eisele (pronounced "Isley") is a self-described beach conservative. He is a businessman and space entrepreneur with a background in economics, foreign policy, aerospace and defense and holds a deep rooted passion for politics. He has lived in numerous 36th District cities including Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Marina del Rey and believes it is time for new leadership and a new voice in the House of Representatives.
Mr. Eisele currently serves as Head of Sales and Marketing for Excalibur Almaz (EA), an international space exploration company created to provide routine, affordable access to and from space. While at EA, he has focused on innovative ways to promote commercial spaceflight through educational and entertainment avenues and helps make the case for the importance of space exploration to humanity. In addition, he works as a business, marketing, and sponsorship consultant for numerous aerospace clients and start-up companies helping them navigate the often challenging business environment.
Mr. Eisele also worked as the Marketing Coordinator for the X PRIZE Foundation's Lunar Lander Challenge in 2007 where he gained a greater appreciation for what private industry is capable of with the proper incentives. This includes the first privately funded and developed spacecraft (SpaceShipOne), showing that "innovation through competition" works!
Prior to working with Excalibur Almaz and the X PRIZE Foundation, Mr. Eisele worked as a Senior Analyst for DFI International (now Avascent Group) in Washington, DC, managing and researching numerous projects for Fortune 100 aerospace and defense firms. Much of his work included issue advocacy on Capitol Hill, working on behalf of industry to help secure robust funding for aeronautics and other Space initiatives.
Mr. Eisele taught a conflict management course to middle school students and has Washington DC experience where he worked as an intern for the Majority Leader of the US House of Representatives in 2000 and developed an affinity and greater understanding for public service.
Mr. Eisele holds a BA in International Studies from the Johns Hopkins University and an MA in International Economics and Strategic Studies from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) where he received the William C. Foster Award for "sound scholarship and a record of distinguished service and leadership." He also holds a Master's Certificate from the International Space University in Space Business.
Mr. Eisele is fluent in German and proficient in French and Italian. When not debating politics,
he enjoys playing music including the violin and can be found running on the beach.
